Identification, preparation and implementation of the Fourth Fisheries Development Project to develop the fisheries sector in Yemen. 

The project covered resource assessment, fishing and processing methods, quality control, domestic and export marketing, Law of the Sea, Monitoring, Control and Surveillance, and the position of women in fishing communities.

A multi-disciplinary team assisted the Ministry of Fish Wealth in planning and formulating the strategies for the sustainable management of resources and institutional restructuring of the fisheries sector. 

Experts were also involved in the installation of the ArcINFO-based GIS to undertake digital image analysis and hardcopy interpretation of eleven coastal Landsat TM scenes.
